Privacy & Terms

Plain-English summary of what data Volex Forge collects, why, and how we use it — followed by the terms of using the service. We've tried to keep this honest and readable rather than dense legalese.
The short version: We collect the parts you describe, the models we generate, and how you use the tool — so the service works, so we can fix problems, and so we can improve and train the AI models that power Volex Forge. We don't sell your personal data. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.
01Who we are
Volex Forge is a service operated as a sole trader trading as Volex Labs, based in the United Kingdom ("we", "us"). It turns plain-English descriptions into 3D CAD files with engineering analysis. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
You can reach us about this policy, or to exercise any of your data rights, at hello@dailyvolex.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
02What we collect
- Account information — your email address and an encrypted password, or your Google sign-in identity if you use Google to log in.
- Your prompts and generated parts — the descriptions you type, the parameters you adjust, the CAD models and files we generate for you, and any ratings or feedback you give.
- Usage data — which features you use, generation outcomes (success or failure), timings, and error reports, so we can keep the service reliable.
- Payment data — handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details; Stripe processes payments and shares only confirmation and limited metadata with us.
03How we use your data
- To run the service — generate your parts, store your model history, process payments, and send you account emails.
- To improve and train our AI — we use prompts, generated outputs, ratings and outcomes to evaluate quality, fix failures, and improve and train the AI models that power Volex Forge. This is how the tool gets better at producing correct parts over time.
- To keep things working and secure — diagnosing errors, preventing abuse, and understanding which features help.
On AI training: By using Volex Forge you agree that the parts you describe and the models generated may be used, in de-identified form, to evaluate and train our models. If you'd prefer your content not be used for training, email us and we'll honour that for your account.
04Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the service providers ("processors") needed to run Volex Forge, each processing data on our behalf under their own terms:
- Anthropic — powers the AI that turns your description into a part.
- Stripe — processes payments and subscriptions.
- Railway — application hosting and the database that stores your account and projects.
- Vercel — hosting and delivery of the web app.
- SendGrid — delivery of account and verification emails.
- Plausible — privacy-friendly, cookieless usage analytics (no personal profiles, no cross-site tracking).
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK/EEA. Where they do, they rely on appropriate safeguards (such as UK/EU Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision) to protect your data. We may also disclose data if required by law.
05Your choices and rights
- Access & deletion — email us to get a copy of your data or to delete your account and associated data.
- Opt out of training — email us to exclude your content from model training.
- Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate account information.
Depending on where you live (for example the UK or EU under UK GDPR / GDPR), you may have additional statutory rights. We'll honour applicable rights regardless of location.
06Data retention & security
We keep your data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations. Passwords are stored encrypted (hashed). We take reasonable measures to protect your data, though no online service can guarantee absolute security.
07Terms of use
- The service is provided "as is." Volex Forge generates engineering models and analysis to assist you, but you are responsible for verifying any part before manufacturing or use. Generated geometry and analysis may contain errors and are not a substitute for professional engineering judgement or certified analysis.
- Free previews and paid downloads. Previewing and adjusting parts is free. Downloading manufacturable files requires payment (£2.99 per part, or a Pro subscription). Prices may change; we'll show the current price before you pay.
- Pro subscription & fair use. The Pro plan provides unlimited generations for normal individual professional use, subject to a fair-use policy. "Unlimited" is intended for one person's genuine design work, not for automated, bulk, resale, or shared/multi-user access on a single account. We may apply reasonable rate limits to protect platform stability, and if usage materially exceeds typical individual use (for example, sustained automated or high-volume generation), we may contact you, apply temporary limits, or require an appropriate plan. We will always try to reach out before taking action on a good-faith user.
- Billing, cancellation & refunds. Pro is billed monthly and renews automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time, effective at the end of your current billing period; you keep Pro access until then. Per-part purchases grant a licence to the generated files and are generally non-refundable once the files have been delivered, except where required by law. If something goes wrong with a purchase, contact us and we'll make it right.
- Acceptable use. Don't use the service to break the law, infringe others' rights, or attempt to disrupt, overload, scrape, or reverse-engineer the platform. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service or threaten its stability for other users.
- Your content. You retain rights to the descriptions you write and own the CAD files you generate and pay to download, subject to these terms and the training use described above.
- Availability. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. Features may change, and we may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service with reasonable notice where practical.
- Liability. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Volex Labs is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, or for losses arising from use of generated parts or analysis. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Always validate critical parts independently with qualified professionals.
08Changes
We may update this policy as the service evolves. We'll update the date at the top and, for significant changes, notify you. Continuing to use Volex Forge after changes means you accept the updated terms.
